Is this your event?About the event
Two accordionists and three dancers are sitting on a rotating disc, with a bookcase in the middle. Colourful and neatly organised. But then a book is torn in half and the entire set starts moving. A cheerful, musical puzzle-mess ensues, in which new worlds are constantly created. With music that is exciting, sparkling, slow, fast, loud, soft, silent or screaming. Just as versatile as life itself! To be seen and heard at Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ. Two accordionists, three dancers & a world in which nothing is what it seems
Halve verhalen is a co-production by De Stilte and accordion duo TOEAC. Pieternel Berkers and Renée Bekkers make their accordions sound like wind instruments, strings and singers. According to journalists, they have an ‘enviable dexterity, musical insight and a good dose of guts’. In Halve verhalen, they play music by composers such as the 19th-century Frenchman Jean-Philippe Rameau and the 20th-century Russian Vladislav Zolotarjov.
