About the event
Jismaan Ton Paar ("Beyond the Body") is a bold, intimate, an hour long solo performance tracing a trans man's journey to find himself in a world where trans lives remain invisible. Blending personal narrative, interaction, movement, poetry, humor, and musicality, this semi-autobiographical piece explores dysphoria, belonging, the politics of clothing, accessibility, and public space with disarming honesty and wit.
Produced by The Yellow Man Stories and selected for Uspaar’s no-cost residency, the show has been featured in Mid-day and performed at Off Cue, Tamasha Studios, Uspaar, Veda Chaubara, Third Bell Studios, Lilanoor Centre (Delhi), Lok Kala Manch (Delhi), Star Hopper Studios, Nirmik Festival, Satrangam festival, Pune and Soho House.
The play also inspired a documentary film titled How Much Space Does a Firefly Take?, directed by Shubham Negi selected for Nagari Film Festival 2025,, also screened at Kala Ghoda Arts Festival 2026 & The habitat, Khar.
Now, Jismaan Ton Paar embarks on an ambitious 100-show tour across India & beyond, so far has completed 15 shows.
