This session explores the music of R. D. Burman, fondly called Panchamda, through select audio and video recordings, stories and observations from the perspective of Mumbai-based composer Madhav Vijay (Maddy). It explores some of the ideas and experiments that shaped Panchamda’s work, including his arrangements, use of instruments, recording methods and the many musical influences that found a place in his compositions.
