No Sky is Without Light – An Audiovisual Performance
About the event
No Sky is Without Light (Nessun cielo è senza luce) is an audiovisual performance conceptualised by composer and sound designer Luca Baldini and visual artist Salvatore Insana. This performance offers a contemporary reinterpretation of the universal and radical aspects of Franciscan thought.
Themes such as the relationship between the human and the non-human, the environmental crisis, forms of coexistence, poverty, care, and interdependence emerge through a hybrid sonic dramaturgy where Gregorian chants, field recordings, electronic music, pop tracks, and artificial voices converge. Analog and electronic instruments, sampling, and artificial intelligence processes contribute to constructing a soundscape suspended between memory and innovation.
The sonic dimension expands into a visual score, weaving together archival materials, original imagery, digital processing, and symbolic fragments.
Presented by the Istituto Italiano di Cultura di Mumbai in collaboration with the G5A Foundation for Contemporary Culture to mark the 800th anniversary of the death of St. Francis of Assisi.
