About the event

Reiwa 8 Osaka Lecture Series: Reading Classical Documents - 6 Sessions Central Venue Overview This lecture focuses on deciphering cursive script and covers the fundamentals of classical documents, with brief reference to Osaka's history. ・Lecturer's Comment In the 1810s, one of Japan's smallest daimyo families in the northern Kanto region planned to manage a warehouse storehouse in Osaka but failed. The circumstances of this venture were preserved in classical documents of a family that operated an agarwood shop in Hirano-cho, Chome 3. Based on these documents, we will introduce the management strategy of this small domain.
