About the event

Join the Presentation and Discussion on Housing Policy and the Future of Metro Vancouver Real Estate with local speaker, Russil Wvong. We continue our 2026 series of real estate investing sessions, networking, and workshops for residential and and commercial real estate. Russil Wvong ([morehousing.ca](http://%5Bhttp//morehousing.ca/%5D(http://morehousing.ca/))) will talk about what the recent provincial and municipal election results mean for housing in Metro Vancouver. Housing in Metro Vancouver is scarce and expensive because municipal governments regulate new housing like it's a nuclear power plant, and tax it like it's a gold mine. Russil will help answer important questions, such as:

• Will we see an agreement to speed up approvals, reduce development charges, and get more projects going? • Or will we see a retreat from provincial intervention, continued decline in housing starts, rebounding prices and rents, and stagnation? • How wlll a new government affect housing policy in Metro Vancouver?

PART OF THE VANCOUVER REAL ESTATE - 2026 WDN SERIES: RESIDENTIAL & BEYOND - FOR INVESTORS & INDUSTRY PROFESSIONALS.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER Russil Wvong is a Vancouver-born software developer, housing advocate, and community activist with over 30 years of experience in technology. A graduate of the University of British Columbia, he has become a prominent voice in Vancouver's housing affordability debate, advocating for increased housing supply, zoning reform, and streamlined development approvals. He writes extensively about housing policy through his publication, *Vancouver Needs More Housing*, examining the economic and regulatory barriers to building homes. Russil ran for Vancouver City Council in 2022 and has continued his involvement in municipal politics and housing advocacy. As a father of two, he is particularly concerned about ensuring future generations can afford to live in Vancouver. *Tickets Sold Across Multiple Platforms.* *Free drink included!
