About the event

Upbeat, energetic documentary about young LHBTQ+ people of colour who meet in New York to perform at so-called balls. This artform was first introduced to the masses in the early 1990s in Madonna's video for the song 'Vogue' and the documentary Paris Is Burning. 25 years after voguing first drew attention to itself, a new generation of young LHBTQ+ people have created an artistic, activist subculture, the flamboyant Kiki Scene on Christopher Street Pier in New York. For actors, poets, authors and political activists it is THE place to express themselves. Upbeat, truly inspiring, funny, energetic and moving: Kiki is an uplifting documentary that provides new energy to this fabulous underground culture.
