Green Software in the context of AI

We work in an industry that has a large dependency on the power running the software we build. The power spent running our code comes from the consumption of natural resources in some form. As an engineer, it can be hard to figure out the best choices to limit your resource usage as much as possible. Luckily, people like Anne Currie have taken up the mantle of trying to get the numbers straight and give us some areas to focus on when creating the many great solutions that are running our societies today. Anne is a co-founder of the Green Software Foundation and has also co-written the O'Reilly book *Building Green Software*. CNUG has been lucky enough to invite her to this meetup in August, where she will join us on-screen to give us her take on the current challenges we as engineers face when trying to lower our carbon emissions as much as possible. The meetup is physical only and will be held in CodeNode’s great conference room at the harbor front in Nordhavnen. Bring your questions for Anne and get them answered at the event. We are looking into maybe creating a local discussion panel, but currently this has not been planned entirely. If this will not be held the event will officially end at 19.00.
