Communication in Action! — Workshop 1
About the event
The First Impression
*What Are You Communicating Before You Speak?*
You walk into a room. You meet someone for the first time. And before you've even finished saying hello, something has already happened. They've started forming an impression of you. And you've started forming one of them. Your posture. Your expression. Your eye contact. Your energy. The way you move. How comfortable—or uncomfortable—you seem in your own skin. Communication starts before the first sentence. But how much of what we're communicating are we actually aware of? And how much can we influence? In this workshop, we'll explore first impressions, body language, presence and observation—and the signals we send before we consciously start communicating. We'll experiment with them through practical exercises, role-play and observation, and we'll look at what happens when we change just a small part of the way we show up. No performance required. No need to “be good at people.” Just come curious. 😊 Format: 90 minutes Audience: Open to the public — no previous attendance required Approach: Short explanations + practical exercises + role-play + observation + feedback + real-world application
