Level Up Showcase at the Texas Youth Music Festival
About the event
The Texas Youth Music Festival brings talented middle and high school musicians from across Central Texas to the Rollins Studio Theatre for an afternoon of live music, featuring the Battle of the Voices and Battle of the Bands across a range of contemporary styles, from rock bands to singer-songwriters. Presented by the Austin School for the Performing and Visual Arts, the festival also features a special Level Up Showcase highlighting students from ASPVA’s Level Up Music Series. During this non-competitive showcase, young musicians will perform original songs developed through the program’s songwriting, performance, and artist-development workshops. Some Level Up participants will also take the stage as competitors during the festival, while the Level Up Showcase offers a separate opportunity to share the original work they have created throughout the series. The Texas Youth Music Festival begins at 2:00 p.m. at the Long Center’s Rollins Studio Theatre. One ticket provides admission to the full festival program, including Battle of the Voices, Battle of the Bands, the Level Up Showcase, and awards. This project is supported in part by Austin Arts, Culture, Music and Entertainment.
