🌿 Pause & Connect: A Reflective Sunday Meetup | 11th Oct ✨
About the event
Theme: The Thin Line Between Being Nice and Being Submissive 🌿
Hello, lovely people! ✨
Have you ever said “yes” when you really wanted to say “no”? Held back your opinion because you didn’t want to upset someone? Or walked away from a conversation wondering why keeping everyone else happy left you feeling uncomfortable?
Being considerate is a beautiful quality. But sometimes, in trying to be easygoing, understanding or accommodating, we make our own needs smaller.
Where does kindness end and submission begin? Are we choosing to give, or finding it difficult to refuse? And can we stand up for ourselves while still being kind? 🌱
This Sunday, let’s explore the thin line between being nice and being submissive—in our friendships, families, relationships and everyday interactions.
💬 What’s in store? A welcoming morning of thoughtful conversation, guided reflection and shared learning. Through everyday examples and a simple activity, we’ll explore how kindness and self-respect can exist together. 🌼 Our morning together
1. 🧊 Arrive & connect — An opening activity and a moment to notice how we’re doing. 2. 🧘 Breathe & settle — A grounding practice to help us be present. 3. 🌿 Explore the theme — Prompts and an activity around kindness, boundaries and finding our voice. 4. 💬 Exchange perspectives — Space to speak, listen and learn from one another. 5. 💡 Choose a takeaway — One insight or small step to carry into the week. 6. 🤍 Appreciation & closing reflection — Recognise something meaningful from the morning and check in with ourselves before leaving.
There’s no pressure to tell your story or find the perfect words. Listening is participation too.
You can care about other people and still make room for yourself. 💛
