User Interview Sprint
About the event
Creative Research Week for Founders, Freelancers, Designers Five playful sessions to understand your users differently 5 evenings. 5 lenses. One user — explored from every angle. Talking to users? Researching a new audience? Building a product, service or offering? Trying to understand what people actually need? This isn’t a regular user research workshop. For one week, we’ll spend 1.5 hours each day using different ethnographic, experiential and futures-thinking approaches to explore the people you’re building for. Some sessions will help you see your users differently. Some will help you ask better questions. Some will help you explore different possibilities. And some will help you learn by putting an idea out into the world. Think of it as a creative research lab in the middle of your work week: bring a user/audience profile, problem or offering you’re exploring, spend 90 minutes looking at it from a fresh angle, meet interesting people, exchange ideas — and walk away with richer insights and new possibilities for what you’re building. The week MON — Future User Who is the person you’re actually building for? We’ll combine Future User and Time Traveler to build a richer picture of your user — exploring their past, present and possible future, and the forces shaping how they might change. TUE — Ethnographic Interviews Go beyond the regular user interview. We’ll explore ethnographic and experiential approaches to talking with people — looking for stories, behaviours, beliefs, workarounds, tensions and things people may not think to tell you directly. WED — Building Scenarios What could all of this mean? We’ll take what you’ve discovered and turn it into multiple scenarios — exploring different ways your user, their world and the problem might evolve rather than jumping to a single conclusion. THU — Provotypes Take one of your scenarios and make it tangible. We’ll create a provocative prototype of a possible future — something people can see, experience, react to…
