ICA LIVE ART FESTIVAL | 'A Funeral For…' Panel Discussion

Join us for a panel discussion on ‘A Funeral For…’ a hand-bound art book created by Zara Julius in collaboration with Zoé Samudzi. The panel is moderated by Dr Thabang Monoa. ‘A Funeral For…’ brings together archival intervention, sonic inquiry, and speculative memory work, engaging with the spectral remains of empire. Drawing on rarely engaged materials from the ethnomusicological, photographic, ethnographic, mineral resource, and human-cast collections of the Wereldmuseum / Dutch Museum of World Cultures, the book takes the form of a fragmented visual and textual assemblage that explores questions of memory, history, archival practice, and the politics of looking.
