Amsterdam Sinfonietta and Olli Mustonen in Elgar's Piano Quintet
About the event
Magnificent chamber music in unadulterated late Romantic idiom: Elgar's Piano Quintet. Four members of Amsterdam Sinfonietta and pianist Olli Mustonen chose this piece, which is not 'Rule Britannia' music, but rather a pot of strong Earl Grey on a gloomy morning. Mustonen will also perform his own Piano Quintet. You are in for a treat: Mustonen's way of making music is extremely sparkling and a joy to watch. The program opens with Benjamin Britten’s short - but no less virtuosic - Reveille for violin and piano. An unforgettable musical experience For lovers of chamber music the Recital Hall is the venue of choice. You can hear the musicians breathe and you can practically touch them.
