The Pit and the Pendulum

This atmospheric, striking chiller was once again inspired by the original Poe short rather than a direct adaptation of it. Investigating the mysterious death of his sister, Francis Barnard comes to the foreboding Spanish castle where she lived with her husband, where he uncovers the true horror hidden there. Restored in 4K in 2026 by Amazon MGM Studios at MTI Film laboratory, from a 35mm interpositive. Screen: NFT1. Screening details: 4K Restoration.
