Connect and Conversation 11:00am - 11:45am Learning Center, Floor 1 Connect with other young creatives through thoughtful prompts and shared conservation starters developed by our youth producers. Panel: Insights from South Asian Creatives 11:45am - 12:45pm Learning Center, Hochhauser Auditorium The panel will bring creatives together to explore how to build resilient and meaningful careers in the creative industries. Hosted by our youth producers, joining us for the panel are: • Bharti Kher, Multi-disciplinary artist • Sophia Green, Creative • DJ Ritu, Broadcaster, DJ, Producer and Curator Bharti Kher, is a British Indian artist who is internationally recognised for her sculptures which explore the body, womanhood, mythology and cultural identity. Kher's practice is radically heterogeneous, encompassing painting, sculpture and installation. You can view her current installations at the V&A which brings her work into conversation with the V&A's historic collections. Click here to find out more: Bharti Kher at the V&A - Display at V&A South Kensington · V&A DJ Ritu MBE is a globe-trotting turntablist, broadcaster, producer, curator, Fine Arts graduate, equalities activist, and the voice of the UK’s definitive independent global music show, A World in London. Her 37-year career includes two decades at the BBC, co-founding 90s cult label Outcaste Records, and touring in over 35 countries as a band-leader and solo artist. Ritu is a pioneer of the ‘Asian Underground’ and Bhangra scenes, opening doors for other artists globally. She has been decolonising dancefloors & radio airwaves since the 80s, connecting cultures through music, and trailblazing paths for women and PoC artists. Creative workshop 13.00pm to 15:00pm Sign up in the Learning Center for drop-in slot Join Mush Studio to create your own embossed foil postcards, drawing inspiration from the V&A South Asia Collection and exploring how museum collections can inform your own creative practice. The session has been developed by Mush Studio and will be led by Kushiaania. Mush Studio are a creative duo specializing in illustrations and artwork inspired by their British South-Asian heritage. Their work explores identity, culture, and nostalgia, blending traditional influences with contemporary techniques. This event has been created by a collective of Youth Producers to create a welcoming space for young people of all backgrounds to connect, spark ideas and open up conversations about creative futures.
