Tech 101: Data Privacy
About the event
Join the City of Seattle’s Data Privacy and Responsible AI team as we discuss understanding your digital footprint. What is a digital footprint? How is it created? What can we do about it?
We will explore topics like:
• commonly used terms
• what information is being collected online and in commonly used apps
• settings that give you some control over your digital footprint (bring your device and we can walk through setup and configuration, tracking, location services, and other questions folks may have around minimizing their digital footprint).
• Intersections with artificial intelligence* - ie the tech landscape and some useful tips
• we will also try to answer additional questions you have and if we don’t have an answer, we will at the very least try bring someone who may.
We will have hands-on demonstrations so bring your cellphone or device if you have one.
