📅 Tuesday 10 November, 7 pm Our Italian book club meets to talk about Le perfezioni by Vincenzo Latronico, the Berlin novel that became one of the international literary events of the past year. Anna and Tom are two young Italians living in Berlin: a bright apartment full of plants, Scandinavian furniture, creative digital jobs, long walks, aperitivi and nights out. It’s a life that looks perfect, especially on Instagram. Latronico follows them with a cool, precise and quietly ironic gaze, and slowly shows us what stays outside the frame. Why this book? ✨ Shortlisted for the International Booker Prize 2025 ✨ Named one of the books of the year by the New York Times, the New Yorker, the Economist and the Sunday Times ✨ Winner of the Premio Mondello and part of the Premio Strega “dozzina” ✨ Now on stage at the Volksbühne (Prater, Kastanienallee), with a film adaptation in development ✨ A short novel, just over a hundred pages, so there’s plenty of time to read it before we meet Two dates, same book We’re discussing the novel on two evenings so that everyone can join: Wednesday 28 October and Tuesday 10 November, both at 7 pm. Choose the one that suits you best, or come to both and see how the conversation changes. How it works 🗣️ The discussion is in Italian. All levels are welcome, as long as you can follow and join a conversation in Italian. 📖 The book (Einaudi Super ET edition) is available at Metis.
