The world caught up with the brilliance of photographer Kwame Braithwaite’s work when, following his death in 2023, his son uncovered a vast archive of images. Working out of Harlem and across seven decades, Brathwaite shot more than half a million images – intimate photographs of everyday Black life, alongside portraits of icons including Stevie Wonder, Muhammad Ali and Nina Simone.
