Homesick for Another World
About the event
With both humor and insight, this work asks how collective consciousness and memory might offer alternative imaginaries for solidarity and resistance. Homesick for Another World unfolds as a hybrid experience mixing live-film, lecture-performance, and theater. From Mei Liu’s 2-year artistic research, the work dives in the world of lucid dreaming under oppressive environments exemplified by physical confinements. She explores how oppressed bodies can emancipate themselves from the desolate reality and find freedom and hope through creating solidarity, dreaming, imagining and accessing other existing dimensions.
