IDFA returns in 2026. Every November, this international film festival takes place in Amsterdam, transforming the city into a paradise for documentary enthusiasts. It takes place in various locations, from Rembrandtplein to Amsterdam West and Zuidoost. IDFA is the world's largest documentary film festival, and this year it once again features the biggest and newest (inter)national documentaries.

IDFA screens more than 300 international documentaries, each offering a unique perspective on the world. Viewers are transported to both the poorest and richest places on earth, sometimes poetically, sometimes with a powerful statement. The topics are incredibly diverse, but the films share one thing in common: they provoke thought and encourage discussion.
