About the event

Cool off this July with a series of pop-up activities all about the Ice Ages—plus enjoy the museum’s excellent air conditioning while you’re at it! Discover what life was like during the Ice Ages through hands-on experiences and family-friendly activities: Story Time | 10:15 – 10:45 a.m. Settle in for a story about different Ice Age creatures and imagine what summertime was like during the Pleistocene. Fossil Exploration | 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Meet a paleontologist and get up close with Ice Age fossils—including mammoth and mastodon teeth. Ice Age Art Studio | 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Take a cue from Ice Age artists and draw your own version of ancient animals using provided materials. Plus, take 10% off Ice Age-themed merchandise in the Museum Store. Activities take place in the museum’s hands-on Discovery Center and are included with admission. Great for families and curious visitors of all ages!
