About the event

Seldom-screened, provocative queer classic based on director Sheila McLaughlin’s own life. Alongside Lizzie Borden and Bette Gordon, the latter was part of a small school of independent queer filmmakers in 1980s New York. Lesbian lawyer Agatha is house-sitting for her friend Jo in mid-Manhattan in thee 1980s, while the latter is abroad shooting her film. Whilst cleaning the dusty apartment, Agatha finds Jo's old diaries full of the erotic details of her many (male) affairs. Agatha enters a downward spiral of jealousy and sexual obsession.
