Hey, I'm Hamed. I'm an expat who has been living in Amsterdam for almost five years, and right now I'm working on my own projects. I'd love to make new connections and friends along the way. (Sorry, not fluent in Dutch yet.) *'Deep Work Club is a phone-free work session in Amsterdam, built around focus and the people at the table.'* 07.10 WED · 15:00–18:00 Eye Bar & Restaurant, IJpromenade 1, Amsterdam Capacity: 2 guests. Entry: free, coffee at the bar. PROGRAM Times are a rough guide, not a schedule. 15:00 · ARRIVAL AND INTRODUCTIONS Coffee first. Names, projects and what you'd like to get done. 15:30 · PHONES DOWN. DEEP WORK. Phones go into the box in the middle of the table, if you like. About two hours of focused work, side by side. 17:30 · CONVERSATION What got done, what is being built, what comes next. HOUSE RULES A few loose rules, so everyone can focus.
1. Phones. Put yours in the box if you can. Need it? Just grab it, no questions asked. 2. Timing. Arriving a bit late or leaving early is fine. Join quietly. 3. Calls. Take them away from the table. Headphones are welcome. 4. The café. Order something at the bar. 5. Be kind. Respect each other's focus, time and boundaries.
BRING A charged laptop or notebook, and something you want to work on. For freelancers, founders, students and anyone building something. Regulars and first-timers alike. Only two seats this time, so please RSVP only if you can make it, and cancel if your plans change. FOCUS, COFFEE, COMMUNITY.
