[DiscoverTech] Upcycle & Engineer: Creative Building with MAKEDO
About the event
About the Event
Step into the role of a young engineer and discover how creative ideas can be transformed into purposeful, sustainable designs!
In this hands-on workshop, children will explore key engineering concepts such as structure, stability, joining and strengthening as they work through the process of imagining, building, testing and improving their own creations. They will be challenged to think creatively about how everyday materials can be redesigned and given a new purpose instead of being thrown away.
Using cardboard together with Makedo’s child-friendly saws, screwdrivers and fasteners, participants will experiment with different construction techniques before developing imaginative creations—from quirky creatures to useful household helpers.
Through building, problem-solving and prototyping, children will develop spatial thinking, creativity and confidence while experiencing how engineers and designers turn simple materials into meaningful solutions.
A fun introduction to engineering design, sustainable making and the power of turning ideas into reality!
This programme is suitable for children aged 5-8 years old, is age appropriate and requires registration.
