About the Programme
The Singaporean kitchen has undergone massive makeovers in the last half a century, moving from kampongs to high-rise living, with swanky new kitchen appliances that claim to make our lives easier — once every few years. Amidst these changes, we’ve left some of our best tools, cooking techniques, and even our favourite recipes behind.
Join Museum of Food in this 2-hour session as we take a look at the tools that once lived in every Singaporean kitchen, flip through iconic vintage cookbooks together, and learn to use NLB’s resources to reminisce about the good old days.
About Museum of Food
The Museum of Food (MoF) is a non-profit for heritage food education co-founded by two Singaporean food book authors, Emily Yeo and Yeo Min. Through heritage cooking experiences, market tours, and their collection of vintage cookbooks and kitchen tools, MoF makes heritage cooking knowledge accessible to Singaporeans of all ages.

ReadSG
This exhibition is part of ReadSG. NLB's national movement to make reading a lifelong habit and a shared culture that nurtures curious minds, critical thinkers and informed citizens.
The ReadSG Challenge is NLB's national reading initiative that invites Singaporeans to rediscover the joy of reading through a simple daily reading habit. All it takes is 15 minutes a day to build a reading habit. That's about the time between three MRT stops, waiting for your bus, or enjoying your morning coffee. Click here to find out where…
