About the event
About the Event
Eating is more than nourishment, it is also about enjoyment, connection and sharing meaningful moments with family and friends. But for some older adults and individuals with medical conditions, changes in chewing and swallowing can make everyday meals more challenging.
Join us at Come, Let’s Eat, an interactive community education session to:
• Discover how texture-modified meals can support nutrition, dignity, and quality of life for older adults
• Learn about swallowing health and IDDSI awareness
• Experience soft meal demonstration and tasting
An initiative by the Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS), supported by The Ngee Ann Kongsi, in collaboration with 5 Senses.
Speaker's Profile
Shaun Foo, Co-Founder of 5 Senses, brings extensive experience in the food and hospitality sector with a strong interest in creating more inclusive dining experiences.
As part of SUSS’s Inclusive Dining initiative, Shaun worked with SUSS to co-develop and pilot dysphagia-friendly menu options in a mainstream dining setting, exploring how familiar dishes can be adapted for individuals with chewing and swallowing difficulties while retaining their flavour, presentation, and enjoyment.
Shaun now brings these practical insights into community education, sharing how modified meals can remain familiar, appetising, and enjoyable, while supporting dignity and social inclusion.
This programme is suitable for seniors.
