Is this your event?About the event
Join Inversion Ensemble and The Cathedral in a concert that heralds the arrival of the Thinning Veil featuring two Texas premieres: an ultra-cool-non-stuffy setting of Latin mass for a cappella choir and a choral ballet based on Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein, brought to life by Inversion Ensemble, ballet dancers, a cellist, and a percussionist. The program begins with “MISA”, a setting of the Latin Mass for a cappella chorus by Filipino composer Ryan Cayabyab, last performed in the US by a Filipino choir in the early 1980s. The second half of the concert unveils “Unfashioned Creature”, a choral ballet that takes themes from Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein composed by Timothy C. Takach, choreographed by Penelope Freeh, and scored for choir, cello (Carol Anne Bosco), and percussion (Jordan Walsh).
