Returning to the Heart

RETURNING TO THE HEARTA journey inward through breath, movement, stillness and sound. Facilitated by Third Space project – Margot van Spaandonk & Micho Alusta, co-creating with Riana Alet. Step away from the pace and noise of everyday life and enter a beautiful, contemplative space at the Sufi Temple in Cape Town. Returning to the Heart is an intimate afternoon created to help you slow down, reconnect with your body and breath, and create space to simply be. At the heart of this experience is the beautiful, meditative sound of the live handpan, an instrument whose gentle, resonant tones invite a sense of stillness, presence and deep listening. Woven throughout the afternoon, the handpan becomes more than sound; it becomes part of the journey. You will be gently guided through mindful movement and breath-led yoga, allowing the body to soften and the mind to settle. From there, we turn our attention inward through guided meditation, creating space to become quieter, more present and more connected to yourself. As the afternoon unfolds, the practice becomes slower and more contemplative. Through gentle heart-opening movement, we explore the space around the chest and heart, not as something to achieve, but as an invitation to soften, open and feel. There will be moments of deep rest and surrender through Yoga Nidra, followed by an immersive live handpan sound journey, where you can let go of doing and simply listen, receive and allow yourself to be carried by the sound. The afternoon will close gently, with time to integrate the experience and share a moment of connection before returning to the outside world.
