Festive recital with harpsichord: A Baroque Christmas
About the event
The London Obbligato Collective celebrates Christmas with music from the Italian Baroque, bringing together the virtuoso violin tradition of Italy with the musical life of 18th-century London. At the centre of the programme is music by Felice Giardini, the celebrated Italian violinist and composer who made London his home and became one of the city's leading musical figures. His works are complemented by selections from the Christmas Concertos of Arcangelo Corelli and Pietro Antonio Locatelli, presented in new arrangements for violin, cello and harpsichord. From Italian virtuosity to Georgian London, this is a Christmas programme of elegant melodies, pastoral colours and intimate chamber music. Enjoy the music in the unique atmosphere of the Supporters' House Salon at the National Gallery, with a glass of bubbles or non-alcoholic drink included with your ticket. Access: For House and Exhibition Members.
