Our Girls

Netherlands Mike van Diem, whose 1997 film Character was an Oscar winner for Best Foreign Language Film, delivers a character-driven drama about trust, parenthood, and the dark undercurrents of long-standing friendship. For years, two close couples have shared an idyllic holiday home in the Austrian Alps, enjoying peaceful summers together with their families. However, their tight-knit bond is thrown into chaos when a tragic accident involving their teenage daughters presents a heart-wrenching moral dilemma. As each set of parents desperately works to uncover the truth while shielding their own child, long-buried rivalries and uncomfortable secrets erupt to the surface, shattering their polite facades. Van Diem meticulously peels back the layers of domestic respectability to reveal how far parents will go for self-preservation.
