For over two decades, the aluCine Latin Film + Media Arts Festival has showcased the diverse talents of Latin American filmmakers, both in Canada and abroad. Originating from the 1993 Cruzando Fronteras conference in Toronto, which brought together 39 artists and over 30 films, the festival has grown into Canada’s longest-running Latin film festival. Presented by Southern Currents Film & Video Collective, the festival's 26th edition runs September 30 to October 2, 2026, at the Spadina Theatre in Toronto, featuring three nights of premieres, shorts, and documentaries spanning fiction, documentary, animation, and experimental film.
