BEACH VOLLEYBALL 🏐☀️ SPANISH BANKS MEETUP

We welcome you to our 11th year providing fun, casual, and ALL-LEVELS beach volleyball! 🏝🏐👍🏼 We have all of the equipment needed to play! Days: Sunday mornings and Wednesday afternoons Time: Times will vary slightly based on temperature 🥶🥵 and time of year ☀️ Price: $15 drop in (cash or e-transfer) every event or $100 for an unlimited season drop in pass Where🏝: Most of the season we will play at Spanish Banks East or West beach. Kits is a much smaller beach - Usually we try to play at Kitsilano a couple times a year during the less busy part of the season.
Both beaches are so beautiful though with gorgeous views of the ocean 🌊 mountains 🏔 and sunsets 🌅! How to find us: When you get to the beach, look for a Canadian flag 🇨🇦 on the wooden volleyball post.
How it works 📋: RSVP to the event. Check in with us at the event to be assigned to the correct court based on your skill-level. We have these levels:
1. Beginner/Lower Intermediate 1
2. Lower Intermediate 2
3. Intermediate
4. Upper intermediate
5. High-level intermediate
6. Advanced
7. Advanced 2v2
-sometimes we have a mixed-levels court
~For all levels except the mixed level court, we may move players around if necessary for the proper balanced level of play at each net.

*Always check-in to ask what court to go to. Ages of players: Ages 13+ but most of our players are between 20-35 yrs old.
We have a mix of previous years players and new players! Very important 🙌: Keep your RSVP up-to-date. Take your name off the list if you aren't coming so we know how many people will be there and to allow people on the wait list to join! Please try to be on time, as we can’t hold courts without enough players ⏰ But feel free to arrive whenever you can, if you can’t make it on time! Other events besides the drop-ins:

Weather cancellations 🌧: Check the event for updates about 1.5 hrs before if weather forecast is looking rainy as we will make a comment in the event if we need to cancel because of the weather so please check Meetup and keep notifications on. Ideas of things to bring💡:
• A hat, sunglasses, lots of water and light snacks like juicy fruit or bars
• Sand socks or an old pair of socks are helpful to protect your feet when the sand is very hot or cold
•Multiple layers of clothes to accommodate the weather changing
•A bag/backpack to keep everything from getting sandy
•Be careful wearing jewelry as it easily gets lost in the sand Quick extras to notes👍🏼:
•Bathrooms are nearby at the concession stand. There is a water fountain and outside shower 💧
•Parking is no longer free and is now paid parking at Spanish Banks 🚗 -use paybyPhone at East beach code 50298 -use parkmobile at West beach code 35716 -as of July 12, 2024 it was $1 an hour. -2025 it was $1.50/hr -as of May 12, 2026: -east beach is: $1.65 for 1 hour $3.15 for 2 hours $4.65 for 3 hours -west beach is: $4.70 for 1 hour $8.95 for 2 hours $13.20 for 3 hours $16.20 for all day till 10pm •Please don’t leave any garbage on the beach! Let’s keep the beach clean! We are a “not-for profit-organization” We expect everyone to be careful on and around the volleyball courts and watch out for fellow players. We are watching the courts for safety as much as possible. We also organize courts by similar level so that the courts are as safe as possible.
