A socially engaged love story set against the backdrop of a port strike in Nantes, featuring Michel Piccoli, Dominique Sanda and Danielle Darrieux, among others. A love triangle. A violent strike in the port of Nantes. The clash of social classes. An intense, dramatic portrait of life as it is lived, expressed in a film in which the dialogue is entirely sung, with a score from composer Michel Colombier.
