Two Gentlemen of Verona

When two gentlemen from Verona travel to the Duchy of Milan, they turn out to consist of one lord and one treacherous snake in the grass. Fortunately, the women in the play know how to fine-tune their moral compass better. Their servants travel along and reveal the truth about their masters and mistresses. And there is also a dog – who behaves more like a master than a servant. English language. The story The friendship between two gentlemen from Verona comes under pressure when one leaves to travel and work for the Duke of Milan, while the other stays home to court his beloved Juliet. Fate intervenes, however: prompted by a servant's remark, the second lord's father decides to send him in the same direction. The first lord has meanwhile fallen in love with Sylvia, the Duke's daughter; the second lord likewise falls for her and devises a plan to win her over, even though she knows that he should actually be in love with Juliet. He even manages to have the first lord banished. Meanwhile, Juliet—an adventurous young lady—disguises herself as 'Sebastian' and travels to Milan. There she begins working for her beloved, who at that moment is making frantic attempts to win Sylvia's love (who, however, is not fond of him). Sylvia has many suitors, and along the way, promises are broken and hearts are shattered. The story culminates in a confrontation in a forest outside Milan, in which a band of outlaws led by the First Lord plays a role.
