Singin' in the Rain
About the event
The world famous musical, comedy and dance film with Gene Kelly in the lead role is also a humoristic portrait of an extraordinary era: that of the transition from the silent film to the sound film. Everyone remembers the title song in which a love-struck Gene Kelly dances through a downpour, smoothly moving from one lamppost to the next. The Gene Kelly and Stanley Donen directed musical was a hit thanks to the meticulously performed dance numbers and art direction. The film’s humorous look at a Hollywood transitioning from silent film to the 'talkies' made the film popular.
