In 1920s New York, Irene, a Black woman living in Harlem, is reunited her childhood friend Clare, a light-skinned black woman who has been passing as white. She is now married to a vastly wealthy and racist white man who is completely unaware of her real identity. An adaptation of Nella Larsen’s 1929 novel, Passing is a complex study of race, class identity and belonging. Screen: NFT3.
