MARIE ANTOINETTE
About the event
Sofia Coppola’s opulent and subversive period drama stars Kirsten Dunst as one of the most tragic and fascinating figures in all history: the doomed and tragic Queen of France whose rule happens to coincide with the chaos of the French Revolution. The Court of Versailles is presented with a seductive gloss, but there’s an undercurrent that is just as skillfully deployed by Coppola in this, one of her most widely appreciated films. New 4K restoration.
