Scottish popstar Donovan in his sole cinematic role as the Pied-Piper of Hamelin, a Medieval town subsumed by corruption and the plague. Adark, eccentric fairy tale of fear, prejudice and greed full of song, magic and political commentary. Scottish psych-folk legend and flower power icon Donovan plays the magical flute playing minstrel who is to free the town of Hamelin from rats. In the plague-ridden, 14th-century German town he is primarily confronted by the inhabitants’ greed and corruption. The pied-piper does as asked but does not receive his reward. In revenge he leads away the town’s children.
