In 2024, Ola Buan Øien released his fourth solo album featuring raw blues in Trøndersk, where he looks back to the starting point of when, as a 12-year-old, he bought his first electric guitar: a black Jarock Stratocaster. In his brother's record collection, the 12-year-old found gold: Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble. The horizon was further expanded through encounters with sources of inspiration such as Albert King, Walter Trout, Allman Brothers and The Band. In addition, guitarists such as Danny Gatton, Albert Lee, Steve Morse, Pete Anderson and Eddy Shaver have inspired Ola to further develop his playing style. It is precisely at the intersection of blues, rock and roots-related music styles that Ola Buan Øien & Vise Menn are situated, where the limits are stretched to the maximum of what they are capable of playing, and perhaps a little more! Together with Kåre Andreas Lund (bass) and Håvard Sterten (drums), Ola ensures tight and energetic encounters between musicians and the audience.
