Fang Ting Ting: From Here, What Remains Solo Exhibition
Fri 30. Oct · 18:00 · 2104 Dundas St W
Fang Ting Ting: From Here, What Remains is a solo exhibition in which Fang looks back at the traces that family, an era, her surroundings, and personal experiences have left in her, and how they continue to shape who she is today. Through hand-stitched wire mesh, mirrors, and moving image, Fang considers how what has disappeared can remain in bodily gestures, habits, and ways of seeing. Stitching learned from her grandmother, the window-screen grids of her childhood home, and reflections composed of many small mirrors become ways of examining how these traces persist and form part of her present self.
