Avanti!
About the event
Wendell Armbruster Jr is a put-upon businessman forced to take time out of his busy schedule to collect his father’s corpse. Displaced from the boardroom to the rolling hills of Italy, he is surprised to learn of an also-deceased mistress and her irritatingly friendly daughter. A brilliant fish-out-of-water comedy and a covert attack on America’s profit-driven culture, Avanti! revisits many of Wilder’s recurring themes from a more mature, slightly softer perch. Screen: NFT2. Screening details: 35mm.
