3e Biënnale Pakhuis Wilhelmina

During the 3rd Biennial, Pakhuis Wilhelmina opens its doors to the public on September 12 and 13. Discover a 134-year-old warehouse featuring open studios of artists, designers, architects, photographers, musicians, and other makers. Wander through the building and visit exhibitions, workshops, film screenings, pop-up shops, and musical surprises. Locatie: Veemkade 580, Amsterdam. A peak behind the scenes of Pakhuis Wilhelmina What does a building look like that houses 96 studios and where approximately 130 artists and makers work daily? During the Biennale, visitors have the chance to take a look inside for themselves. Behind the facade of the former harbor warehouse, visual artists, designers, architects, photographers, musicians, and other makers work, each pursuing their own practice. Since the building was squatted in 1988, Pakhuis Wilhelmina has offered affordable workspace to artists and other creative makers. Discover and meet The Biennale offers a rare opportunity to wander freely through the building, step into studios, and engage in conversation with the people who work there. In project space Losdok, a group exhibition featuring work by members of Pakhuis Wilhelmina is on view. Additionally, there are workshops, a film screening by Cinema Wilhelmina featuring work by artists and filmmakers from the warehouse, a Multiples & Book Pop-up in K-Space, and a ukulele play-along in the Gamelan House, organized by the participatory group De Zoete Inval. Those who know the warehouse only from the outside will discover a world that normally remains largely hidden: a building full of makers, ideas, crafts, and experimentation.
