Welcome to Podcast Club Tokyo! This is a community for Podcast lovers. It’s like a book club — but for podcasts! Each month, we pick one inspiring episode to listen to, then come together to share ideas, perspectives, and good conversation. It’s a fun way to discover new viewpoints and connect with curious people.
The episode for this month is "We Are Not Machine - with Sarah O’Connor" by Cautionary Tales with Tim Harford
If you haven’t listened to the episode, it’s available here for free. [https://open.spotify.com/episode/2rXgD6dnoRE6Dj7zVbBi7b?si=mHLO87RXQoCx_EZ5GkkcUg](https://open.spotify.com/episode/2rXgD6dnoRE6Dj7zVbBi7b?si=mHLO87RXQoCx_EZ5GkkcUg)
When the Luddites smashed factory frames in a bid to defend their craft and livelihoods, the machines came out on top. Today, AI and automation threaten to wipe out skilled jobs and flood us with inferior products at a fraction of the price: is history going to repeat itself?
The aim is not to find the right answers, conclusions, or win the argument, but to discover different points of view and get to know people to enrich your life 🙂
Event Details • There will be a summary of the episode to refresh our memory. • Depends on the number of people attending\, split into 2 to 3 groups\, then exchange thoughts and ideas within and across the groups.
Event Fee The event is free, but we kindly request that everyone order at least one item from the Communita Café menu at Impact Hub Tokyo. In this way, you support opening this community to everyone free of charge.
Event Venue Impact HUB Tokyo is part of the Impact HUB Global network, a global community of entrepreneurs seeking to create social impact. Since opening in 2013, they have provided a community co-working space for a diverse range of entrepreneurship, working styles, industries and cultures, bringing together many entrepreneurs and start-ups, freelancers, artists, intrapreneurs and NPO leaders from Japan and abroad, and continues to foster collaboration between its members. From 2022, it became an incubation center accredited by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and offers entrepreneurial support. In 2023, it launched a café, “Communita Cafe”, which is not only open to the community but allows locals, neighbors, entrepreneurs and freelancers to come together.
