Sherman Oaks: Working Walk
About the event
This working walk is open to all levels and remember LARPBO embraces ALL BREEDS!
Instead of the usual classes, we are doing a working walk through VNSO Park! Come join us as we move through the park and its different distractions while doing exercises along the way. We will be meeting at the area that classes are held, but not staying in the area, so we recommend bringing a backpack to hold your valuables, water and your dog's water bowl. This way your hands will be free to manage your leash and getting treats to reward your dog.
This is a group-oriented walk that focuses on beginner to intermediate skills, including how to manage aggressive and selective behaviors. Rain or shine, class will take place. Dress appropriately if rain is expected. However, if a major storm is forecasted or training area is deemed unsafe, we will cancel the class (and reschedule it for the next Saturday). Check Meetup schedule 6pm the night before the class. The Meetup schedule will always be accurate.
1. Class is limited to 30 handler/dog teams. Absolutely NO walk-ins allowed. RSVP and PRE-PAYMENT is required to hold a spot.
***No refunds (or re-scheduling) will be made for missed classes or cancellation; register only if you will attend.*\ Friends or family members accompanying the participant must keep a minimum 20-foot distance from the class area.
REQUIREMENTS: ➊ Complete and submit a [Member Form and Release of Liability](https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdqY0MnqIOkSK68BH04MRHbz1VWpLKIRuarQhTkK1QNmuPcGQ/viewform?usp=sf_link) **before** you attend your first class of the year. Only one submission needed per year! ➋ While we do not require you bring these documents to class, make sure your dog is current on the following:
• Bordetella vaccinations/titer, rabies vaccination and distemper/parvo vaccination for dogs 4 months and older OR Bordatella vaccination for 4 months and younger; and • Local animal care and control agency licensing requirements.

RULES: #1 One dog per handler. No exceptions. #2 All dogs must be on a secure collar and leash. Dogs using e-collars must also be on a leash. Prong collars, slip leads, head halters or other tools should be backed up with a carabiner to a flat or martingale collar. Short leashes are recommended (less than 6 feet). Retractable leashes and harnesses are not allowed as they provide little control. #3 PLEASE NO NOSE TO NOSE CONTACT (dog to dog that is). Always maintain a six-foot distance.
