Can't get anyone at Bike the Drive to respond to messages about group discounts! So register now if you can. Prices go up Monday.
You need to register for this event ([https://bikethedrive.org/register/](https://bikethedrive.org/register/)). The price is currently $66. It will continue to go up the closer you register to September 6. This is the best bike ride in Chicago. Great view and when else can you ride your down Lake Shore drive without ending up on Youtube?
We will meet at Lawrence and the northbound on-ramp for Lake Shore Drive at 6:20 AM. We leave sharply at 6:30 AM. We ride NORTH to the Hollywood rest stop for T-Shirt pickup first (for those who ordered a shirt). If you are getting a T-Shirt make sure you have a way to carry it on your bike! Then we turn around and head south to Millenium Park. People who only want a short ride can turn around here and head north for a total ride distance of 15 miles. The rest of us will continue to the south end rest stop. This is the Museum of Science & Industry. (NOTE: It is impossible for all of us to ride in a group. We will break up into smaller groups based on speed.)
Make sure to have your bike band on, as shown in the e-ticket you get when you register.
After the Millenium Park stop, the rest of us will head south to the Museum of Science and Industry. We will stop briefly at the rest stop and snack. Then it's back north to Lawrence, trying to beat the 10 AM time when they throw us off Lake Shore Drive. The total distance is about 30 miles.
There is a lot of parking if you follow Lawrence under Lake Shore Drive to the lakefront. Just head north along the lake for parking. The parking is free near the lake on N Simonds Dr. (between Foster & Lawrence Ave). You should be able to find a spot if you arrive between 6 and 6:30.
We will do lunch/brunch after the ride at Noon-o-Kabob in Albany Park. That will be a separate event. Some of us will ride there straight from Bike the Drive.
