Theatre of Hate en The Skids
About the event
Theatre of Hate and The Skids will be on stage together at P60 Amstelveen. Both British bands released groundbreaking post-punk and new wave in the late 70s and early 80s. Experience an evening full of classics from two icons of that era. The Skids: post-punk from Scotland
The Skids were formed in 1977 in Dunfermline, Scotland. The band broke through with singles such as Into the Valley, which reached the UK top ten in early 1979, and albums such as Scared to Dance and Days in Europa. The current line-up consists of founder Richard Jobson, joined by Peter Byrchmore, Nick Hernandez and Connor Whyte.
Theatre of Hate: the sound of a generation
Kirk Brandon founded Theatre of Hate in 1980. The debut album Westworld, produced by Mick Jones of The Clash, spent 21 weeks at number 1 in the independent charts. The single Do You Believe in the Westworld? has grown into an anthem that is still played to this day. The current line-up consists of Brandon, Stan Stammers, Chris Bell and Clive Osborne.
