Navigating Emotions Through Art + Drawing Club
About the event
To coincide with the current exhibition 'Are you lonely tonight? I’m so lonesome I could cry', ACCA hosts an engaging panel discussion exploring the relationship between art and emotion, and how creative practices can help young people to navigate complex and powerful emotional states.
This conversation will be facilitated by Lauren Simmonds (ACCA Artist Educator) and will bring together diverse perspectives on the role of art in fostering emotional awareness, resilience and connection. Through discussion and shared insights, panellists will consider how creative expression can provide valuable tools for understanding ourselves and others to create greater connection.
This panel session will be followed by a Drawing Club workshop with a focus on the therapeutic dimension of drawing lead by panel member, and art therapy facilitator Mary Utter.
Panel conversation followed by Q&A, (6pm-7pm); drawing workshop (7pm-8.30pm).
