Noria Letts Quintet: "La Musique"

Step into the romance and rhythm of a Parisian night as acclaimed French chanteuse Noria Letts hits LazyBones Lounge for a celebration of the giants of jazz and blues. Noria and the band fire up a musical melting pot, with an eclectic mix of music from the French - the likes of Gainsbourg, Michel LeGrand and Camille Bertault - through to the giants of the US - Coltrane, Monk and Brubeck - with a nod to their epic Parisian live recordings and one of the great epochs of modern music. With Noria’s signature verve and style backed by a brilliant band, it’s an evening of dazzling music, technical virtuosity and joyous entertainment.  The ensemble features a world-class lineup of Australian jazz artists, each bringing their own creative depth and experience. "When I finally got to see Noria on stage, I was certainly not prepared. Not for the power of her voice, not for her signature vibrato (which can cause structural damage to a concrete building), not for her commanding presence, not for her eclectic repertoire. Surrounded by a stellar band of Melbourne legends of all ages, she goes from Monk to Bach, Coltrane to Brassens, Django Reinhard to Jacques Brel, like they had all been commissioned to write songs specifically for her." - Nikolas Fotakis, AustralianJazz.net   Noria Letts - vocal James Ryan - sax/flute Hugh Barrett - piano Peter Kohlhoff - bass Steve Ley - drums
