Festival de Bomba y Plena
About the event
Afro-Puerto Rican music, dance and participatory performance fill the Miami Beach Bandshell during a free community festival centered on bomba and plena traditions. The event takes place Sunday, October 25, with performances by D’Pleneros, Los Capullitos de Alelí, JACAREO and Miamibloco.
Produced by Afro Borinken Roots Performing Group, the program includes an open bombazo inviting audience participation, along with cultural demonstrations, artisan vendors and family-friendly activities. The festival highlights the communal roots of bomba and plena while creating space for musicians, dancers, cultural practitioners and local businesses.
Launched in 2024, the annual gathering has grown into a recurring South Florida celebration of Afro-Puerto Rican heritage.
